“This represents the second time in our nine-year history that Aethlon has successfully raised growth capital for us. In both cases we received much more than just funds to expand, we received terrific strategic partners. I attribute Aethlon’s vast network of contacts and understanding of “who to go to” for these successful, but unique funding engagements.

Whether it be a PIPE investment versus development funding, Aethlon has structured the appropriate financing to meet our stage of growth."

Granite City Food & Brewery

A publicly-traded upscale casual restaurant chain

May 2008
Transaction: $66,000,000 debt
Aethlon negotiated and structured a long-term development agreement between Granite City and United Properties to build 22 new restaurants between 2009-2012.
The relationship provides Granite City with a stable, less-expensive capital source for funding Granite City’s restaurant unit growth.

November 2004
Transaction: $8,500,000 Equity
This transaction marked the latter of two rounds of private equity capital Aethlon raised to enable publicly traded Granite City to expand from three to twenty-six restaurants.

December 2002
Transaction: $5,560,000 Equity
We were approached by Granite City Food & Brewery in the Fall of 2001 regarding the funding of their expansion plan. The Company had gone public in a 1999 IPO, but despite executing in accordance with its plan, found itself without sponsorship in the difficult fund raising environment at that time. Aethlon structured a PIPE preferred stock security designed to appeal to a wide range of investors and to provide Granite City with sufficient equity capital to embark on a regional expansion plan leveraging its early success in its first three markets. We also assisted the company in negotiating a strategic relationship with a major regional real estate developer for the acquisition and development of future restaurant sites. We completed a $5.6 million offering in 2002, which enabled the company to expand to eight restaurants.
