|Aethlon Capital Names Jay Novak as an Advisor|
Appointment Will Help Expand Aethlon Capital’s Investment Banking Business
Minneapolis, MN May 4, 2011 – Aethlon Capital, a Minneapolis-based investment bank, announced today that Jay Novak, former Publisher and Editor of Twin Cities Business, has joined Aethlon as an Advisor.
Novak will be involved in Business Development for Aethlon, connecting with established businesses seeking a majority sale or recapitalization. Additionally, Novak will offer his business expertise and management skills to a select number of Aethlon’s clients.
Commenting on Novak’s appointment, Sima Griffith, Managing Principal of Aethlon, stated, “Jay’s successful track record as a business leader will be beneficial to Aethlon as we expand our business of advising and representing business owners in the sale and financing of their companies.”
About Jay Novak
Jay Novak, a member of the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame®, brings a 34-year career of publishing, government service, investment banking, and corporate communications to Aethlon Capital. Prior to joining the firm, he was Publisher and Editor of Minnesota’s premier business magazine, Twin Cities Business, a position he held from 2001 through 2010. As a publisher and journalist, he understands the challenges, creativity, and joy that entrepreneurs experience.
Novak served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic Development during the second term of Governor Arne Carlson. As Commissioner, he oversaw a department that provided funding for numerous economic development projects and encouraged business activity throughout the state.
Novak earlier served as Senior Vice President for Miller Johnson Steichen Kinnard Investment Securities, a Minnesota-based investment banking firm. He also served as Director of Communications at General Mills and Press Secretary for United States Senator Rudy Boschwitz.
Novak is on the Boards of Advisors of YSL Holdings, a software company, and SheerWind, a wind-power company. He serves as an officer of Meet Minneapolis, the city's official convention and visitors association, and The Minneapolis Club. He is also on the Leadership Committee of Community Health Charities and recently agreed to join the board of Minnesota International Center.
In 2010, he was inducted into the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame® and received an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award for Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas.
Novak has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin ('72) and a M.A. in mass communications from the University of Minnesota.
